<p>This error says straight forward vlc can not be run as root privileged user.</p>
<p>Just edit /usr/bin/vlc</p>
<p>using hexedit (you need to install this app) and search for geteuid and replace it with getppid.</p>
<p>Save file &amp; Exit.</p>
