osmand uses google services for localization. Yes, you can switch to GNSS only but manually and intentionally
2. Generally yes but it depends on area. Some are better in OSM and some are better in Google.
2a. Most of this can be added to commercial too.
2b sure, try to emphase waterway=stream on map (ironic)

Thanks. Adding a dedicated Search and Rescue mode would also be a great feature. We actually have an active SAR mission for a lost hiker in Malaysia this week. The amateur radio community is helping out by equipping the SAR team with LoRA APRS trackers. I would also want to be early tester for android app later. 73, 9M2PJU

Showing which digipeater/igate heard a station is already on our roadmap (we
actually parse that data today, it just isn’t visualized yet), and a topo
basemap option is something we’d like to add as well. The Android app is

can just use it” — that is exactly the goal. Zero-setup was the
founding idea of the project, so reading this from an operator on
the other side of the world genuinely made my day.

A small update since you wrote this: an Android app is in final
review on Google Play and should be live in the next few days —
offline maps, push notifications, and a Bluetooth KISS TNC mode
for the RF side.

Suggestions and bug reports are always welcome; the roadmap is
shaped by operator feedback. 73 and thanks again!
